About Our Name
Welcome! We put a lot of thought into our name, connecting it to the riches of Presque Isle. Our goal is to honor this beautiful location and also our passion with you. Thank you for joining us on this journey!​ The Berry part of our name came with lots of thought and history of Presque Isle. Did you know that Presque Isle was once known for cranberry picking? We love sharing the history of our beautiful local gem, Presque Isle State Park!
Since it has been a common question, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Alexa and I am 23 years old. My parents own the Cakery where I grew up learning the ropes of the restaurant business from a very young age. I started when I was just 9 years old running the cash register on Saturday mornings, to serving when I was 11 years old, and then managing full time since my senior year of high school in 2020. The restaurant has always been something I enjoyed (yes it can be stressful at times but I absolutely love it). I have always enjoyed finding cute brunch spots when we would go on vacation and always hoped to do something like that one day. When this opportunity fell into our laps and we took a look at the space, I knew this was the spot for that. I went home that night to start brainstorming the concept, menu, and a name. In just about a month a dream became a reality. I have been blessed with the opportunity to create this space and share it with all of you. A special thank you to my family, amazing employees, and the other managers who keep both restaurants (The Cakery and Bay and Berry) running smoothly. We could not do it without them.
